§ 4.12.070. Standards.
A.
Any backflow prevention assembly required in this chapter shall be of a model approved by the District. The term "approved backflow prevention assembly" shall mean an assembly that has been manufactured in full conformance with standards established by the American Water Works Association entitled "AWWA C 11-89 Standards for Reduced Pressure Principle and CS 10-89 Double Check Valve Backflow Prevention Assemblies."

The AWWA standards are adopted by the District. Final approval of each reduced pressure principle backflow prevention assembly and each double check valve assembly shall be evidenced by a certificate of full approval issued by an approved testing laboratory certifying full compliance with the AWWA standards and with laboratory and field test evaluation standards as delineated by the Foundation for Cross-Connection Control and Hydraulic Research, University of Southern California, in their Manual of Cross-Connection Control, Current Edition.

The following testing laboratory has been qualified by the District to test backflow prevention assemblies subject to backpressure, and/or backsiphonage:

Other testing laboratories will be added to an approved list as they are qualified by the District.
