§ 4.12.020. Definitions.

  • "Approved backflow prevention assembly" means that assembly either installed or constructed as a part of the owner's system that prevents any substance in the owner's system from flowing into the District's system.

    "Cross-connection" means any unprotected connection between any part of a water system used or intended to supply water for drinking purposes, and any source of system containing water or substance that is not, or cannot, be approved as safe, wholesome and potable for human consumption.

    "District" means the Cucamonga Valley Water District of San Bernardino County, California.

    "District's system" means that network of pipe, valves and other devices used to convey and direct water to the District's customers.

    "Manager" means the General Manager of the Cucamonga Valley Water District.

    "Owner" means that person owning the property to which the District provides water service, and shall include, but not be limited to, persons involved in the following:

    1.

    Production of agricultural products including food processing plants;

    2.

    Industrial manufacturing where water is used in the manufacturing of a product;

    3.

    All medical and dental offices, laboratories, pharmacies and hospitals providing human or animal care;

    4.

    All parks and landscaped areas provided for recreation or beautification;

    5.

    Commercial establishments involved in the sale of food.

    "Owner's system" means that network of pipe, valves and other devices used to transport water to and through the premises of the owner.

    "Premises" means the land together with the building, or buildings, on such land that is serviced by the District.
